Social Listening Finds The Top 2016 Halloween Candy

Happy Halloween! This year, we’re all about the candy, chocolates and sweets. With trick-or-treating, Halloween parties and grocery stores being flooded with enticing candy, there’s something sweet tempting you everywhere you look. It’s the perfect excuse to indulge in our favorites, because let’s be honest, what’s October 31st without the Halloween candy?

I was interested in seeing which Halloween candy was trending online this year and which one candy took the title as the most-talked-about online this year. So naturally I used Synthesio’s Social Listening platform to measure the top Halloween candy of 2016.

Here’s the breakdown:

Halloween Candy

Twix took the lead with 22.47% of the social share of voice for all candy.
Fact: Twix was originally called Raidar. It was started in the UK in 1976 and 13 years later, it became an all-American creation.

After Twix came the ultimate Halloween candy: Candy Corn!
Fact: When the Goelitz Confectionery Company first produced Candy Corn, it was called “Chicken Feed.”

The United States is sharing the most Halloween posts this year:
