I’ve been working in PR for a decade now, and in that time I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the biggest and most well-known brands in the world, as well as some of the most innovative start-ups, and everything in between. In that time I’ve managed clients through many partnerships, integrations and a number of acquisitions. Today is one of the most exciting days of my professional career. For the first time since I’ve moved my career in-house from the agency side, I can finally make an announcement like this for a company I work for.

Synthesio has acquired Bunkr. We announced this earlier today, and if you want to read all about it and the logistics you can check out the announcement in TechCrunch here, I’m not going to rehash all of those details now. What I will do is talk briefly about something that was really a driving force behind this acquisition and something I always told my old clients that they must think about whenever planning or executing an acquisition in the past.

The most important thing for any business when going through acquisition is you. You, the reader of this blog, our customers, our potential customers and/or anyone who is just interested in our industry.

There are many wrong reasons for companies to acquire another organization. Some businesses use acquisitions to build up their profiles, some use them to simply say they can do more now as a business and end up clumsily attaching two vastly different businesses together in a way that never truly works out. However, the best reason for any business to acquire another one is that it will truly help its customers have a better and more complete product. That is exactly the thought process behind Synthesio’s acquisition of Bunkr.

Bunkr’s technology will truly help Synthesio’s customers create dynamic, strategic, insightful and useful reports built out of the vast amount of Social Data that Synthesio’s leading global Social Intelligence platform gathers. Furthermore, Bunkr was founded on the same principles and beliefs as an organization as Synthesio, the desire to create the best global product to help organizations make sense of their content and data.

This is an exciting time to be a part of the Synthesio organization, as an employee or as a customer, and I know that this acquisition will go very far in further providing our customers with the best Social Intelligence tool available to them. Bunkr will be fully integrated into Synthesio’s platform in Q3 2017, but we’d love to show you how it can be used earlier, and how our platform can help you out with your Social Intelligence needs by requesting a demo today.
