The World Cup is a chance for players to shine, to grow, and to become stars and national heroes overnight. For our third issue of the FIFA World Cup ’22 Monitor, Synthesio and SIA have teamed up to measure players’ online influence three months before the World Cup. The scores allow us to understand the full impact the tournament will have on each player’s brand.

Overall player scores are an index from 0-100, where 100 indicates a higher online presence. They are based on three key metrics: engagement (number of likes, dislikes, reactions, shares, and retweets on social media), sentiment (positive, neutral, or negative), and volume of fan conversations (excludes posts from media and official entities).
